Tholien web like weapon?

is is possable to make a weapon like a Tholien web?

a Tholien web is created by little shuttles where they leave a line behind them where if any ship touches it the ship has damage bigger the web becomes stronger it gets


this could be a very fun weapon to use!

Just thought I'd point out that the Wikipedia page on starmade still says starmade is free on the old site and I think it still talks about old docking. If most people who find starmade look it up on wikipedia, then they might be a bit confused. Can someone update or tell someone to update that page?

Galaxy generation process:
  • Phase 1: Position galaxy centers
  • Phase 2: Stars, black holes, wormholes
  • Phase 3: Form star Systems
  • Phase 4: When someone enters the system, generate planet and asteroid orbits and stuff
  • Phase 5: When someone enters the sector, generate blocks. Don't save them if nothing is edited.

While I am happy Universe Simulation appears to be working again I kind of don't like that pirates and it seems rather stupidly that the trade guild also cannot attack players at shops.

Is there an option somewhere to disable this? I think players should be on their toes, paying attention and not afking at shops for hours on end.
I'd like pirates to be able to attack people at shops instead of hitting some invisible nofire wall.

Same for the trade guild, you attack a shop and you get a...

Chat likes to start duplicating messages after awhile.

Screen shot attached. I've not been able to make it worse or better with frequncy of messages or lack of messages.

The content icons won't update no matter what I do. Delete current icon, upload icon and quickly press save changes. Nothing works it just reverts to the previous icon.

Greetings,

Over the past 3 weeks or so I've focused on making some improvements to SMD to ensure this site is functional if other major web services go down. Along the way, I've also taken a look at fixing some of the older bugs that have been lying around and made some significant performance improvements. There's still a bit of work to do; this is what has happened so far.

salvage beam not gathering ores

for the past few days for some reason when i use the salvage beam on any of my ships(mothership or mining drones) the beams will gather the basic minerals of what i am mining, i.e. dirt, sand, whatever the plant/asteroid is made of, but will not gather any of the ores. i have the cargo blocks linked to the storage computer and the storage computer linked to the salvage computer. this setup worked a few days ago, and has worked for months. i have tried doing a repair install which then...

Looking for carrier ship logic help

So...hmmm...well I want to try and build a carrier for fleet mining since we can do it now, my problem is, I have no clue on how to do 2 pieces of logic I want to do on the carrier after it's done.

I can do basic logic controls (thanks Bench) but the 2 logic arrays I guess I need still escape me in learning them, even when I have a sample of them.

Logic one is a one touch logic system, using the new pickup and shoot out rails, that can launch a set of drones out of the carrier and when hit...

Forcefield Lighting / general lighting

The forcefield slab lighting update (T883) to the dim lighting of full sized forcefield blocks has removed a very useful method of discretely illuminating large areas of ship interiors. I have noticed personally that my interiors have become a lot darker and bringing them back to the original level of illumination is impossible without very obvious plex lighting.

If you want to make a hull/armor wedge, tetra, hepta, or corner, you first have to manufacture the standard cube, then turn the cube into the shaped piece you want.

Which means for every non-cube hull/armor block you want, you have to manufacture it twice, first as a cube then as the block you actually wanted.

This is incredibly annoying when you're having to make large numbers of them in various combinations. Please, just let us make the shaped piece directly, upgrade shaped pieces...

Work Around for Undo Paste Crash?

Okay, I'm working on parts of a station that are just huge amounts of precise copy/paste work, so I'm hitting this bug CONSTANTLY now.

It isn't consistent, so I'm wondering if anyone has spotted a pattern to it yet that can be exploited to avoid it until it can be fixed?

For those that haven't had the pleasure of running into it yet, there is a bug currently where if you undo a Paste in build mode, it throws a null pointer reference and crashes Java. I've had it crash...

Im a huge diehard starwars fan. Yes, starmade involves space and whatnot!
But imagine, if planets were capable of ground combat, or starting from a planet. To clarify, i did an experiment. i made the ratio size of all planets on a world set to 2,500m, little did i know it made each face of the planet 2,500m. (game handled great) But little did i know, Gravity....... Hell my standard ships struggled to get off the ground.... So imagine, starting on a huge planet, which seems endless on end...

I outlined this in General Discussions, but the thread response makes me think it's time to shift to the support page. I've built a carrier using the new rails for launch and recovery. The carrier and all of the drones are in the same faction. I created a fleet with the carrier as the command ship and added all of the drones. I then docked all of the drones, each with their own pickup point.

After I launch the drones, they respond to orders normally - sentry idle, idle, move to sector,...
