my experience with fleets

These are the 16 thoughts I came across while testing fleets stuff.
Here are no carrier-fighters ones, since I haven't tested it yet.


1) an odd pathfinding for fleets. looks like fleets chose one of the coords which they closeup to the given nav point, and only after it being equal to the target, alter the 2nd and
3rd ones, thus providing their movement kinda giant curves instead of a straight line
1.1) fleets need route points, like "1st fly here, then there, then there", patrol cycle...

Use for hatch covers, doors and so on.

Rotator when activated turns to set point (90-180-270-360), stops, second activation reverses the rotation back to starting point

I would like to resurrect an old suggestion, I'm thinking that a self destruct sequence for ships would be a good idea much like halos "Cole protocol". Either a standalone block that can be activated from the panel or a code system using logic to activate the sequence before flight even begins as a safeguard and 2 stage button press much like when you used to try and exit a moving craft a warning would appear this would prevent accidental destruction.

Hi !

I came here for a question about shield supply and docked entities. I was thinking about shield regeneration and docked entities when came this idea. If I shoot at a ship, would the regeneration of the docked entities be lowered as it would be ? If not it would be an amazing tool for large ships to get modules with supply beams to get a decent shield regeneration. And maybe broken too.
So I tried this tonight, and it looks like this is it ! But not sure if i'm right or not. Display...

At approximately 2 AM CET star-made.org, StarMade Forums, StarMade Wiki and our bug reporting site (Phabricator) went down. We have just restored both the forums and the wiki. This is a "little" project I started about five months (edit: 2 years) ago. It's going to be my own personal titan with a "computer controlled, no crew (apart from the pilot)" theme, meaning fairly futuristic and robotic looking. Orphan Wormholes Please

I'm not sure the algorithm being used for wormholes, but every galaxy having only one unified wormhole highway is not the best possible. If it's not a major modification, it would be nice to see maybe one small wormhole highway and a percentage of 2-point wormholes as well that are simply a single blast from one point to another and are not a part of a chain of wormholes.

For those of you who have figured out how finagle the horrible player shops into something that actually conducts profitable trade, here's a nice new option I've discovered.

Build a "Billboard" ship. Large, 2D message with your sector and message, basic thrust, blinky-light logic if wanted, faction module. Keep it cheap (cause it's gonna get vandalized and you'll need to make them regularly). Save the BP of it.

Now add your billboard to its own little fleet, and send it from your base to...

Recently ive had players come to me with a problem regarding Turret AI, mainly that when you set the bobby ai "turret" state it will revert back to "ship" once you activate the module. is this a problem for anyone else?

I have noticed ( rail rotator ), these blocks specifically only interact with buttons or activation module, and could be very interesting to give them the possivility to interact with other logic blocks.

For example, if we want to make a rotator rail always spin, we must put a button next to:

Currently it's very hard to keep an overview of a ship or a station and all docked entities. It's also a big hassle to enter a specific entity's core or to access a specific Bobby AI module. Additionally, it's impossible to make an entity stop draining power from its host or to stop shield recharging to conserve power. What we need is an O.V.E.R.V.I.E.W.:

Hello,

I had an I idea for two new truster blocks.
The first one the A.N.P.S.T(Anty Newtonian Physics Space Trusters):We are the future in this game so I would belive that at least some trusters that make ship not drift in space would exist,but it would need an advanced factory to craft it and would not work in planet atmosphere.

The second one is the brake truster:The brake truster will make your ship do a full stop(some bad effects can be used to make it balance).
